Hi, this is Bill Sikkens, host of User

:here on The Answer
with this week's Tech Wednesday.
3
:It's been in the news
that a company called Arcade
4
:One up is probably shutting down,
with another company
5
:getting a lot of their assets fine.
6
:And this company manufactures replicas of
old arcade cabinets for use in the home.
7
:These were never meant
to be used in an arcade,
8
:but if you want an original Pac-Man
to buy, these cost less.
9
:They're easier to come by and are reliable
because they're new technology.
10
:But in with all of these things,
there's a lot of products that they have
11
:that require apps or servers to operate.
12
:And when a company like this goes away,
what happens to all of that?
13
:Does your device break?
14
:This week on User Friendly 2.0, we're
going to be talking about these topics
15
:not just with arcade one up,
but in general,
16
:because what happens if you buy
17
:a smart device and the app goes away
or it's no longer supported?
18
:There are some cases where you can work
around it and some that you can't.
