How Unique Do You Want Your Smart Phone Controls To Be?
The way that smartphones are sold has changed over the years. Originally the manufacturers put their equipment on the market and everyone who wanted one would buy one. Recently the market has reached saturation and now manufacturers are finding unique ways to sell you a new phone.
One trend we are seeing is from both Apple and Google updating their operating systems on a regular basis. A new operating system won’t always support older phones so this is a way of removing aged equipment from use. Google released a beta of Android Version 12 earlier this year with the latest update last week.
The unique feature our listener asked about is one that allows you to control your phone with your face.
If you choose to use this feature the front camera will always be on. It will pick up your facial movements and react accordingly. Can’t imagine what could go wrong here…..(sarcasm)
On the beta of this feature, part of the Android Accessibility Suite, you can map facial gestures to actions (functions) on the phone. Things like you can smile to open your settings or open your mouth to scroll.
