We all know that these type of things

may not be terribly dependable

as components age things where out

and is a product of time,

some tiny components

within these devices will fail.

there was a time period

when devices were made that they had

a much bigger problem of this

happening than now, and it's an area

known as the capacitor plague.

These are small devices that contain

energy within most electronic devices.

Pretty much everything has them,

and from the time that they were built,

some lasts better than others and most

will eventually need to be replaced.

in some cases, these devices can actually

damage the vintage electronics.

They leak, they explode, they do all kinds

of other things and will generally

make operation much more difficult,

if not possible at all.

And at the end of the day,

it can cost a lot of money

to repair these things

if it's even possible.
