may not be terribly dependable

:as components age things where out
and is a product of time,

:some tiny components
within these devices will fail.

:there was a time period
when devices were made that they had

:a much bigger problem of this
happening than now, and it's an area

:known as the capacitor plague.

:These are small devices that contain
energy within most electronic devices.

:Pretty much everything has them,
and from the time that they were built,

:some lasts better than others and most
will eventually need to be replaced.

:in some cases, these devices can actually
damage the vintage electronics.

:They leak, they explode, they do all kinds
of other things and will generally

:make operation much more difficult,
if not possible at all.

:And at the end of the day,
it can cost a lot of money

:to repair these things
if it's even possible.
