Hi, this is Bill Sikkens host of User
Friendly 2.0 Saturdays
2
:here on The Answer
with this week's Tech Wednesday.
3
:I don't know if you've noticed,
but I sure have.
4
:It seems like everything
is becoming a subscription lately.
5
:From a technical standpoint,
you used to be able to go out
6
:and buy a license for software, but now
you have to pay a monthly subscription,
7
:and this type of thing is being done
across the board,
8
:and it seems to be accelerating
as time goes by.
9
:This week on User Friendly 2.0, we're
going to be talking about subscriptions,
10
:why it's going this direction
other than just money,
11
:which was the obvious first choice,
12
:and some ways that you might be able
to work around it a little bit.
13
:If you still want to do old school
type software and other things.
14
:One of the other things that we're going
to also be talking about is your data
15
:and the value of it.
16
:Your data is worth more than you think.
17
:And with that, along with subscription
based things, the big companies are able
18
:to make a lot more than they were
just selling you a piece of software.
19
:That will be this Saturday on User
Friendly 2.0 here on The Answer.
